Under current legislation, vocational and professional education is delivered by a company and a school, which jointly run the education programme. Practical training is an integral part of every training programme.
Practical training is divided into: practical training at school and practical student training through work with employers (PST).
Practical education in schools is delivered as practical classes and consists mainly of the acquisition of those basic vocational skills that would facilitate the student's direct integration into the workforce and those skills that cannot be acquired in the company or factory.
Practical student training is based on facing real-life situations. It must enable the acquisition of knowledge, alongside professional socialization and the development of personal capabilities and professional competences relevant to the quality of work and the successful development of a professional career through direct work experience.
The programme shall be implemented on the basis of individual or collective learning contracts.
